Meet Bruce Clark
Bruce Clark was born February 28, 1954 and raised on a small farm near
Fairview, Kentucky. He graduated from Kankakee Westview High School in
1972, serving as student council president. A University of Kentucky
political science graduate, he was selected to be one of 25 students
nationally to meet and participate in a conference with then President
Gerald R. Ford.
Bruce served as Business Administrator for Shapiro Developmental Center
until 1985, when he was appointed Kankakee County Clerk, winning
reelection six times.
In November 1995, he was elected by his peers to serve as President of
the Illinois Association of County Clerks and Recorders. In May and June
of 1996, Bruce was selected by the Carter Center to be part of an
international observation team to witness Presidential elections in the
Dominican Republic. In May 1997, Bruce was requested to serve as an
Election Observer in Liverpool, England. In September of 1997, Bruce
served as an Election Coordinator in Bosnia. He has also served in
elections in Kosovo and Azerbaiijan.
Community service plays a big role in Bruce Clark's life. He has served
on the Board of Directors for the Helen Wheeler Center, Asbury Child
Care Center, Asbury United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society and
United Way. He also has served as President of the Kankakee Kiwanis
Club. Bruce has also served as Day School Board President for St.
Paul's Lutheran School, Kankakee.
Bruce resides in Bourbonnais with his wife Christina and has three
children, Sarah, Laura and David.
