Vital Records
 Thanks to your requests, we are now able to offer vital record applications online. You will need a valid credit card, and there is a surcharge to use this service. Your credit card will be billed from VitalChek for the amount due. Please make certain event occurred in Kankakee County.
Birth Records
Birth records may be obtained in the office of the County Clerk. Certified copies may only be obtained by the individual who is listed on the birth certificate if he/she is 18 years of age or older, by a parent named on the birth certificate, or by a legal representative unless otherwise authorized. The cost for a certified birth certificate is $7.00 for the first copy, and $2.00 for additional copies(if you order online, there will be an additional surcharge).
Death Records
Death records may be obtained in the office of the County Clerk. Certified copies may be obtained by any individual who has a personal or legal interest in the record of the deceased. The cost for a certified death certificate is $9.00 for the first copy, and $4.00 for additional copies(if you order online, there will be an additional surcharge).
Marriage Records
Marriage records may be obtained in the office of the County Clerk. Certified copies may be obtained by one of the individuals to whom the record of marriage belongs or a legal representative of either party of the marriage records unless otherwise authorized. The cost for a certified marriage certificate is $7.00 for the first copy, and $2.00 for additional copies(if you order online, there will be an additional surcharge).
 Genealogy Records
Genealogy records can be obtained in the office of the County Clerk. An uncertified copy may be obtained by anyone doing family history. Birth and Marriage records have to be 75 years or older. Death records have to be 20 years old. The marriage records begin in 1853. Death Records begin in 1877, and birth records begin in 1878. The cost for an uncertified copy is $7 for the first copy and $2 for each additional copies. (If you order online there will be a $7 additional surcharge.)
